From day one, RevGen has been committed to giving back to the communities where we live, work, and play. It’s part of our DNA as an organization and as individuals. And it’s a big reason why I am proud to be part of RevGen.

After joining RevGen in Spring 2013, I quickly starting working with a small group of employees who were dedicated to changing the conversation around corporate giving. RevGen executives empowered this group, now called the Advocacy Team, to build an avenue for employees to drive the organization’s philanthropic efforts.

Over time, the Advocacy Team has evolved and matured to offer all employees the opportunity to engage in volunteer, in-kind, and financial contributions. For the past four years, the Advocacy Team has been soliciting proposals twice a year from our RevGen colleagues to award grants to deserving non-profit organizations in our Colorado community.  I’m always inspired by the breadth and depth of engagement RevGeners have in the community and am so grateful for this opportunity to work at a company that truly lives its values everyday through its employees.

On behalf of the Advocacy Team, I am pleased to announce the award winners for the spring 2017 cycle:

Colorado Chamber Orchestra (CCO) (Referred by Dave Tweed)
The CCO‘s Elementary Instrumental Music (CCO-EIM) program provides opportunities for Douglas County elementary students to learn to play an instrument. We’re pleased to award CCO-EIM $3,250 for scholarships and new instruments.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado  (VOC) (Referred by Kris Kilton)
A statewide nonprofit, VOC has partnered with local middle schools to introduce students to outdoor play and stewardship. We’re excited to award $1,250 to help the organization arrange educational assemblies and hands-on outdoor stewardship projects at Lake International School.

MS150 (Referred by David Pratt)
Every June the National MS Society hosts the MS150, a two-day bike ride across the Colorado Front Range, to fund research and programming for people living with multiple sclerosis. We’re pleased to contribute $500 on behalf of the RevGen team that will be participating in the ride.

The Invictus Initiative (Referred by Ian Foley)
Dedicated to implementing sustainable solutions in disadvantaged communities around the globe, The Invictus Initiative pairs volunteers from Colorado universities with engineering projects. We’re excited to award $2,500 to implement an aquaponics growing system in a low-income Colorado community.

KidsTek  (Referred by Cara Athmann)
KidsTek is dedicated to improving the technology literacy of students at Colorado’s highest-needs schools. We’re pleased to award the organization with $2,500 to supply 10 students with laptop computers so they can complete the KidsTek technology curriculum.
